ready Set GROW offers prenatal and postpartum yoga, Pilates based core classes designed for mamas, kids yoga and dance, childbirth education and prenatal workshops, and more.

In addition to group classes and workshops at multiple locations in downtown Vancouver and Portland, we specialize in private lessons for late pregnancy/early postpartum women, children needing more attention and guidance, people with chronic injuries or beginners and "yoga tentative" students. Private lessons are available in-home or at various studios.

Daniele Strawmyre of ready Set Grow helps women develop "body intelligence". Through yoga, foundational Pilates and fundamentals of dance, she teaches exercises to help people feel strong, centered, and good in their bodies and minds. In addition to providing nuanced and thoughtful workouts in her classes, her students learn tools they can utilize in their everyday lives: Using fun imagery and tricks that stick in your head, Daniele helps you go about your day (riding a bike, lifting your children, carrying groceries, etc) with more awareness, helping you break bad habitual movement patterns, improve posture, heal and avoid injury.

Another (fun!) part of ready Set GROW is community building. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a tribe to feel supported. Not only does ready Set GROW offer knowledge and guidance in healing and healthy physical practices, but through group classes offers a meeting place (or places really) to find your tribe.

A note from Daniele on why she created ready Set GROW:

"I was inspired to create ready Set GROW because I wanted to offer a range of services that served as a bridge between the adult members in a family on their journey as parents; and the innocence, joy and curiosity of childhood and growing up…because really they’re not so different.

We’re always growing, always changing, always developing more fully into the people we were meant to be.

I have a unique perspective on the challenges women and mother's bodies face daily (and how to address them) as well as over 15 years of experience developing and teaching dance/theater programs for children.

I’m a mother of two young children (and a dog named Lemmy),  a professional choreographer, dancer and movement educator of over 25 years, with a focus on prenatal and postpartum health for the last 5 years, a Philadelphia native and a Portland transplant, a lover of children, a cook, a baker, a meatball maker, a  believer in the power of positive reinforcement, love and not taking things too seriously: I believe we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously but we SHOULD take our health and happiness seriously.
