"I fell in love with pre/postnatal health when I was writing my masters thesis on the medicalization of birth in the U.S. and learned that we have some of the worst birth outcomes in the industrialized world with the highest amount of interventions. Shortly after I finished school, I did my pre/postnatal yoga certification and became a birth doula. I love yoga because it teaches us how to breathe through sensation, stay centered during intensity and is one of the most effective and holistic ways to improve physical, mental and emotional health for parents and babies during pregnancy, birth and postpartum."
Liz Farmer has been a practicing yogini since 2005 and a Certified Yoga Teacher since 2009. Liz taught pre/postnatal yoga for years before having a baby and found that her yoga practice was integral to her sanity during pregnancy, birth and after her daughter was born. Liz's favorite style of teaching is vinyasa flow and restorative yoga. She is also a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Hypnotherapist, HypnoBirthing Instructor and holds a BA and MA in Anthropology.
