Is your child a wild force to be reckoned with?

In this Star Wars inspired yoga class, students will learn bully prevention skills and connect with the life force in themselves, others, and objects in their environment. Light saber dueling will occur once the padawans have demonstrated self-control and sensitivity to the force.

Birthing From Within - Weekend Immersion (Friday 6pm-9pm, Saturday 2pm-6pm, Sunday 11am-6pm)

In this class, we will use multi-sensory experiences to learn how labor works, what labor looks like, various comfort measures and positions for labor, and several pain coping practices. We will also examine the instinctual aspects of the birthing process while processing the emotional journey of birthing. This course is based on the Birthing From Within philosophy. Parents will learn through interactive and creative participation, in a spirit of fun and curiosity.

Participants will:

  • Explore assumptions about pain

  • Learn and practice pain-coping techniques

  • Transform their fears in order to birth in awareness

  • Honor childbirth as a profound Rite of Passage

  • Develop and strengthen communication, trust and confidence during labor and beyond

  • Learn what to expect of labor and birth

  • Learn about roles of partners and birth companions

  • Learn how to source practical information and make conscious decisions

  • Use their imaginations to consider a range of possibilities for labor and birth

  • Learn about the physical and emotional process of labor and birth

  • Learn about postpartum recovery

  • Learn techniques for welcoming their baby and bonding as a family

Instructor recommends taking course at the end of your second trimester or any time during your third trimester.

Teaching your baby sign language can give you better pre-verbal communication, leading to a happier, more fulfilling experience. This workshop is geared towards busy parents, caregivers & educators who don’t have a lot of time to spare. Learning to sign with a baby should be simple & caregivers can learn all they need to know in this one-time session & then take all of the information home to begin working repetitively with their child.

This class provides hands-on instruction and practicing of Infant CPR as well as choking prevention and choking management.
