regimen for Low iron in pregnancy
Here is the list of supplements I took to get my iron levels up and some diet tips for counteracting side effects of the iron. This is not medical advice, and you should check in with your midwife or doctor before taking anything. I'm sure you will, but just have to say that. :)
Hemoplex 85-170mg (each pill is 85mg and I wound up taking two pills a day/170mg)
Floradix (I just put a capful in my big water bottle and sipped throughout the day. I think the taste is actually pleasant).
Beef Liver (when my numbers were stubbornly staying low, my midwife had me start on these and they helped with my energy too so bonus!)
Magnesium (can also increase birth weight of baby and reduce the chances of pre-eclampsia, decrease headaches, muscle pain, nausea and insomnia, you name it)
Psyllium Husk 1 good sized tablespoon in water at bedtime (to counteract all of the iron and it's most fun side effect-constipation)
Smoothies! I had a fruit smoothie most days and just packed it full of kale and spinach.
I'll link two of the supplements and give you my fave preggo smoothie recipe below. Good luck and let me know if you need anything!
Cheers,
Daniele

Daniele's Pregnancy Smoothie:
(In order)
Strawberries (a shitload-this is an exact measurement)
Peaches/pears/apples/whatever you have or is in season (apples help with constipation too)
Dates (4 or more for sweetness + some studies show they help to ripen the cervix so bonus!
Protein powder (whatever your favorite brand/flavor. I really like the Vega Chocolate + greens)
Ice
Prune Juice or Almond Milk *depending on how things are "going". I'd also sometimes add a bit of Psyllium Husk.
Spinach and/or Kale (I would pack the top half of the blender with as many greens as I could fit)
Optional: a spoonful of yogurt or cashew butter
Blend on HIGH
