PREGNANCY

PRENATAL YOGA - This class is designed to provide women with a safe space to connect with their changing bodies as well as other moms to be, connecting their experience to others in their community as well as that of women throughout history, tapping into the innate wisdom within.
You will be guided through asana that prepares you for pregnancy, giving birth, and provides a foundation for postpartum recovery. It will help you cultivate a new awareness that will assist you through labor and delivery, and find a deeper connection with your growing baby. Interweaving childbirth education as well as addressing aches and pains associated with pregnancy, the class will help to strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, provide relief and comfort to the areas of the body most impacted by your growing belly.
Taught with a strong focus on alignment and a healthy dose of humor, these classes help you navigate your changing body and life with grace and acceptance.

PRENATAL YOGA FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR - This class will be a wellness space for those who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color to provide a community-oriented place for healing, growth, and support during pregnancy. Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit and Non-binary People of Color are welcome!

Please honor and respect our need to gather and hold space in community. Allies can support by sharing the class information with those who identify as BIPoC.

POSTPARTUM

BABY & ME YOGA - This class provides a comfortable, supportive environment for new parents and their little babes (about 6 weeks up to crawling) to spend some time together bonding while caregiver starts to regain strength and tone muscle, relieve stress and tension from the most common “new baby trouble spots”, the neck, shoulders and upper back, and work on stabilizing the abdominal wall, lower back, and pelvis after pregnancy and childbirth.

You and your baby will play while you practice yoga, occasionally sing songs, explore movement, practice infant massage and connect with other parents and babies. Feeding, diaper changing, crying babies, sleeping babies, playful babies are all welcome during class.

Bring a baby blanket, some toys, and whatever else will make you feel comfortable as you meet other parents and create special memories with your new baby.

BABY & ME CORE REBUILD - In this Pilates based class, you'll learn how to access and engage the muscles of the core: the transverse abdominis, multifidis, and pelvic floor, release tension in the iliopsoas (hip flexors that are often tight after pregnancy) and begin to stabilize your trunk and hips; improving posture, helping to correct diastasis recti and pelvic floor disfunction, so you can feel stronger and pain free while lifting, carrying and chasing your little loves. Improve posture, lessen/alleviate lower back pain, and make your stomach look flatter, waist smaller, and restore your strength and confidence (and stop peeing when you sneeze 😉). Whether you had your baby(ies) 3 months ago or 3 years ago, these classes can help you!

*PERFECT, GENTLE way to address DIASTASIS RECTI. **Birthing parents with or without babies are welcome to attend.

BABY & US YOGA - Similar to our Baby & Me class but with a bit less focus on postpartum recovery and some more attention for non-birthing parents. Any and all caregivers are welcome to attend this class with their pre-crawling baby. We will work on releasing tension in all the areas most affected by caring for a baby while interacting with baby in fun and engaging ways. All levels, all gender identities, all caregivers welcome!

BALLET & BABIES -  A fun, all-level ballet class for postpartum parents while wearing their little ones. We will use the fundamentals of ballet to re-integrate the core while working on strength and flexibility in a warm and welcoming environment. Ballet & Babies is especially helpful for anyone looking to improve their posture and core engagement while baby-wearing (or in general). This class is appropriate for people who are new to ballet as well as those with a movement background. 
*Please wear a symmetrical carrier (ie not a ring sling) and clothing you can move in. No special footwear required. Socks and bare feet recommended. 

CORE BABY BOUNCE - In this fun and unique class, parents will spend half of their time on the mat with baby nearby, and half on a physio-ball while baby-wearing, bouncing their way to a content baby and a stronger core! We will practice exercises that work the deep core (transverse abdominis, multifidis, and pelvic floor), release tension in the iliopsoas (hip flexors that are often tight after pregnancy) and help to stabilize your trunk and hips; improving posture, helping to correct diastasis recti and pelvic floor disfunction, so you can feel stronger and pain free while lifting, carrying and chasing your little loves. 

*You're welcome to take this class with or without baby. If taking the class with baby, please wear a symmetrical carrier (ie not a ring sling) and clothing you can move in. Sneakers or bare feet recommended.

**If you are new to baby-wearing or are using a new carrier, please arrive 15min early for a tutorial. All of our instructors are trained by baby-wearing experts from Adjoyn

PARENTS

MA-MA MODERN DANCE - Another fun and unique class for parents! Created specifically for birth parents and their littles (crawling babes & toddlers) directly addressing the tightness and pain that comes from lifting, chasing and caring for young children (while still healing from pregnancy and birth). In this class we will do simple movement phrases that focus on stretching the whole body while engaging core muscles and practicing proper breathing for a full body workout. Although this is an ALL LEVELS class and NO EXPERIENCE is required, it will provide an opportunity to exercise your brain (which let's be honest can feel a bit atrophied from the long sleepless nights and lack of adult conversation), and encourage a more full, mind/body connection.  We will start on the floor, with phrases based in the Bartenieff Fundamentals, activating pelvic floor and core, and then end with some standing and simple across the floor sequences that will get everyone's heart pumping with joy. Babies and kiddos can play or join in depending on their interest.

*NO PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

MULTITASKING MAMAS & PAPAS CoreFit - A Pilates based class for caregivers and their littles. Come get strong and fit while your kid(s) play with toys and get their wiggles out. Great for moms, dads, grandmas, nannies, etc. with babies and toddlers (up to about 4 yrs old). Stay after for one of our kid's dance classes and watch them shake their groove thang or grab a coffee a half a block away at our fave Portland coffee shop, Extracto Coffee!

MULTI-TASKING MAMAS & PAPAS YOGA - Have you tried to practice at home only to have your toddler climb all over you and bring everything to a screeching halt? Has your child started crawling or otherwise outgrown all of the “baby and me” Yoga classes? Are you on to baby number 2 or 3 and just can’t seem to find the time to practice? Well, then this class is for you! I can’t guarantee your kiddos won’t climb all over you, but you will be guided through a nice, juicy and moderately-paced Vinyasa class while your kiddo(s) can play and let loose with other little ones. It's a little Zen and a little "Lord of the Flies". Generally, when there are lots of kids in the room, they start to be more interested in each other, leaving parents a little reprieve. Think yoga class meets play-date. Children are always welcome to practice with parents (all caregivers welcome), but they’re also welcome to stay true to their free-wheelin, curious and energy filled nature and just PLAY.

BALLET FOR 2 - Help your little one explore the basics of ballet and develop gross motor skills in a fun, no-pressure class that will help them begin to learn about turn-taking, following direction, musicality and storytelling! Assist your tiny dancer in beginning ballet movement and imaginative play while nurturing a love of dance and classical music. Tip toe like fairies, leap like deer, gallop like horses, and float like butterflies! For children 18 months to 3 years, with caregiver.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT - A class designed to invigorate your toddler's senses with physical exploration and to develop a keener sense of body awareness. Movement games guide skipping, moving backwards, walking on tip toes, balances, twirling, leaping, crawling, rolling and wiggling. With the use of props and musical guidance, students learn to use their imaginations to help them experiment with physical invitations. For children 2-4 years old. *Parents are welcome to watch class from our viewing room through our 2 way mirror!

FAMILY, FUN, & FIT - Part circuit training, part dance party, this class is designed to give parents a great, well-rounded workout while kiddos play for the first half, with a fun "dance party" during the second half where everyone is invited to join in a (cardio-focused) dance that keeps the parent's heart rates up (and sneakily works on gross-motor development for the kiddos)!

FAMILY YOGA - A yoga class for the WHOLE FAMILY! A playful, open-ended class appropriate for any age, from babies to elementary age kids, teens, parents, grandparents; all are welcome! Classes will flow and change in the moment with our highly trained and experienced teachers effortlessly designing classes to the needs of the students present, and offering redirection when needed.

Meditation + Movement + Fun = A much needed, end-of-day reset. *This is an inclusive offering! **Children under 10 years old and anyone who needs additional support must attend with a parent, guardian, care provider or mentor.

KIDS CONTEMPORARY - Beginning with a warm up involving stretches and balances, students move into across-the-floor style movement exercises designed to develop their strength, coordination and creativity. Students begin to work on identifying their rights from their lefts, how to listen to musical timing, and how to kick, step, turn and jump with grace and pose. A short and simple piece of choreography is taught slowly each week to popular kid-friendly music - watch your child grow their love for dance! For children 3-5 years old. *Parents are welcome to watch class from our viewing room through our 2 way mirror!

STORY-TIME BALLET - This class will help children develop coordination and rhythm through imaginative movement with the help of props, children's books and graceful games. Ballet positions of First and Second are taught and dancers begin to build strength and body awareness through turns, jumps and curtsies. Students learn to memorize a short dance which incorporates dancing to the music of Swan Lake. For children 3-5 years old. *Parents are welcome to watch class from our viewing room through our 2 way mirror!

KID-FREE

WEEKEND RECHARGE - For ALL Caregivers: A reprieve from the madness of obligation: Meditation. This gentle class is a welcome space of rest for the nervous system allowing for regeneration and resourcing of the wellspring within. The way we do one thing is the way we do everything, exploring this by relearning how to rest, rejuvenate and revive our inner wisdom. Floor based postures, soothing shapes and myofascial release utilizing gravity and a generous helping of props.

MORNING YINYASA - For ALL Caregivers: Intentional action, built flow, simple shapes, grounded-ness. Let us help you start your day off right with some re-centering, somatic exploration. Consider this the calm before the storm. Forgiveness, kindness, finding flow, poetry of the body, are some of the themes we will explore in this gentle but invigorating early morning class. Students are invited to jump into whatever joy they're chasing that day, leaving right at 8:30, or take extra time coming out of the space we've created and luxuriating in a nice long Savasana to ease into their day.

NEURODIVERSE 

FAMILY YOGA - A yoga class for the WHOLE FAMILY! A playful, open-ended class appropriate for any age, from babies to elementary age kids, teens, parents, grandparents; all are welcome! ZEN-SATIONAL KIDS SOCIAL SKILLS GROUPS - Regular, rotating 8 week series for 3-5 yr olds, 5-8 yr olds or 8-10 yr olds, with the goal of both educating and allowing children to experience what healthy relationship-building looks like. Developed for verbal children (ie. we use language, stories, verbal instruction to lead & teach); groups will focus on social communication and behavior to build functional social skills, enhance interaction skills among peers, and provide opportunities for participation in structured group activities as well as everyday situations.
Created and overseen by Debra Jablonski, MS, CCC-SLP, with input from Ready Set GROW founder Daniele Strawmyre, each session is led by either Debra, or Megan Knight, MS, CCC-SLP and Holly Leder MS, CCC-SLP, and ends with a short movement or yoga based activity that correlates to the primary objective of the lesson, helping children to integrate more fully the concepts explored, and leave with a “calm body” and “calm mind”.
