“That is full, this is full. From that fullness, came fullness. If fullness is taken away from fullness, only fullness remains.” --Upanishads

Such a great fullness takes place within the body temple. To know the human body can bloom into such fullness, and then release such a complete masterpiece without the original reservoir becoming any less. Both parts, carrier and baby, equally important. Equally nourished. Catering to this dynamic is so humbling. A womb waits its entire life to perform. I have an inevitable trust in this process, offering space to nurture this unfolding experience is an honor.”

Makeda Stewart has been in the medical field for over twenty years in many capacities with special emphasis on families and babies. She has carried the role of medical assistant to operating room assistant. She is an advocate for justice and compassion of all beings. She understands that families and individuals come in all shapes and sizes and strives to preserve that fluidity with respect and understanding. Her truth on human interaction is to always meet the person wherever they are in life, and connect the pieces from there.

Makeda is a Certified Birth Doula, and worked with the Providence Women’s Clinic as a hospital staff doula. She is a Yoga Instructor and received her training through The Bhakti Yoga Movement Center. Her most recent endeavor was graduating East West College of Healing Arts and becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist and working at the lovely Zenana Spa and Center for Wellbeing.

Makeda began her dive into yoga over ten years ago and has been involved in the birth world for nearly six. She has an infinite love for Ayurveda and always connecting the physical layers of the body to nature. Allowing the landscape of the Earth to harness the compass of health. She loves to share and utilize all these tools of touch and movement that connect breath to soul. She believes in holistic healthcare and listening to your intuition.  She would not call herself the healer, but would prefer facilitator. Helping others find their abundant power and strength during times of transition and change is really where the magic is.

Makeda is a born and raised Oregonian. She shares her life with her partner and three beautiful daughters that range from pre-teen to young adult. She values her role as a mother. Her children have molded her into the woman she is today. She remains grateful.
