"If we can use movement to rewire our neural network- why not model accepting, creative, and adaptive movements for our children? When we model communication, stress release, and experimentation with our bodies, we give the gift of regulation skills to our children. It's my belief that most children are not given diverse ways of regulating and it's natural that parents could use a refresher on stress reduction!"

Teal Bluestone has been working with children in the Portland area for around ten years. She received her MA in Child and Adolescent Development and has used somatic based principles to help children heal for the past three years. Teal's mission is to combine play therapy, dance, and child psychology to help families reduce stress and improve their communication. Over the years, Teal has noticed that connection can be lost with words, she invites her participants to reconnect with family members with the original form of communication- movement.

Increasing familiarity with the body is the foundation of her work. Her classes aim to deep dive into bodily awareness, to increase autonomy, all while being silly! She likes to take her families on "magical" trips to space, the jungle, the ocean, and even rainbow land when in movement class.
